PRELUDE: SITE OF BECOMING

OPENING SECTION FOR "JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND DREAMS"

Prelude: Site of Becoming, is the opening movement of a larger work, Journey of a Thousand Dreams (Fall '25). The work takes as its conceptual point of departure and inspiration, West African vodoun mythology and the Ewe/Fon story of creation. Prelude: Site of Becoming sets the world in motion through the dynamic and wondrous form of five dancers set to the entrancing music of John Coltrane (“Welcome” and “Selflessness”).
